ABOUT MRS. BORGES

Hello! I am SO excited to be your child’s teacher this year! This is my first year at John B. Dey Elementary and I am very excited to be a Seagull!  I wanted to let you know a little bit about myself before we begin our exciting year together.

This will be my ninth year teaching in Virginia Beach City Public Schools.  I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia.  I went to East Carolina University, where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education.  After college, I earned my Masters of Elementary Education at Old Dominion University.  This past year I certified as a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education.

I’m blessed to have a wonderful husband, a sweet baby boy named Blake, and a Golden Retriever named Banks.  We are a beach family! My husband and I met in the Outer Banks and were married there, 5 years ago! We love spending time with family, playing beach volleyball, and playing on the beach with Blake!
